Week1
It was the first day of becoming a fashion student, and Ms. Melina demonstrated how to use the sewing machine including threading the machine, inserting and removing the bobbin and footer, and given us three different types of fabric material. Although is really confusing at first, but it started to make sense afterward and I love it.
Week 2
This week, we focused on creating skirt and bodice blocks using box board. Ms. Melina helped us purchase it and guided us through the process. However, her fast-paced teaching style made it challenging to keep up at times.
We started with the skirt block, which required taking accurate measurements for the waist, hips, and length. Drafting the pattern involved adding darts and making sure the lines are clean and straight. While it was detailed work, I found it slightly easier to manage compared to the bodice block.

Next, we worked on the bodice block, which was much more complex. It involved plotting the neckline and armholes with great precision. Following Ms. Melina's instructions at her fast pace was difficult, and I struggled to keep up at certain points. However, I pushed through the confusion and completed the task. I was relieved that I managed to complete both the skirt and bodice blocks, especially since the process felt overwhelming at first.
